About SanatanBodh
Last updated:
SanatanBodh (सनातन बोध) is a connected knowledge graph of Sanatan Dharma. Here, deities, scriptures, verses, pilgrimage sites and festivals are not found as separate articles but linked to one another: Shiva to Parvati, Parvati to Ganesha, Ganesha to his festivals and scriptures.
Our promise: a source for every fact
With every relationship and every statement, we name the scripture, chapter and verse it comes from. Where scriptures or sampradayas (traditions) differ, we show every view with its source, without placing any one above the others.
What the name means
"Sanatan" means eternal, that which has always been, and "Bodh" means awakening or understanding. Our logo is a bundle of palm leaves tied with a thread and a knot, because the word "granth" (scripture) itself comes from the Sanskrit root granth, "to bind".
How the content is made
- The original texts are taken from scriptures in the public domain.
- Translations and explanations of meaning are written by our editorial team with the help of AI; no publisher's translation is copied.
- Every date is checked against Drik Panchang and every text against two independent sources before it is published. Pages that our reviewer has read show the reviewer's name and the date. Details are in the editorial policy.
- The panchang is calculated from the astronomical positions of the Sun and the Moon.
The full process is described in our editorial policy.
