Each day, from sunrise to the next sunrise, was checked minute by minute for all of these together; only a stretch of at least 5 minutes counts as a muhurat. The weekday is counted from that day’s sunrise, so the hours after midnight until the next sunrise belong to the same day. When a third tithi begins within one day (the middle one being kshaya), that part is not taken, as in Drik Panchang’s list.
Drik Panchang says on its page that its list comes from weekday, nakshatra and tithi shuddhi, that the movable nakshatras are the best, and that windows beginning after 9 p.m. are dropped. Which nakshatras, tithis and weekdays it takes, and the Adhik month and Pitru Paksha, were matched against its day-by-day notes. Its list counts “9 p.m.” as 15 hours after sunrise (in winter some windows beginning a little after 9 p.m. are on it), so we do the same. With these rules our calculation reproduces its whole list for 2026 and 2027.
Drik Panchang also advises joining the time with a movable lagna (Mesha, Karka, Tula, Makara) or a dual one (Mithuna, Kanya, Dhanu, Meena) and avoiding Rahu kaal. This list does not look at lagna; Rahu kaal is given in each day’s panchang. How we calculate the panchang

Why are there no vehicle purchase dates on Tuesdays and Saturdays?
Drik Panchang’s list does not take Tuesday or Saturday for buying a vehicle; Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are taken. The weekday is counted from sunrise, so a window that begins in the evening and runs past midnight belongs to the day it began.
Should one buy a vehicle in Pitru Paksha?
Drik Panchang’s list gives no vehicle purchase muhurat in Pitru Paksha, so there are no days on this list from 1 to 10 October 2026 or from 16 to 30 September 2027. These days are kept for shraddh and tarpan; ask your purohit about your family’s custom.
Should Rahu kaal and lagna be checked too?
Yes, that is Drik Panchang’s advice: join the time with a movable or dual lagna and avoid Rahu kaal. This list looks only at nakshatra, tithi and weekday. Rahu kaal is given in each day’s panchang and on the choghadiya page; ask your purohit about the lagna.
Are these times the same for every city?
The moments when the nakshatra and tithi change are the same across India, so most times stay the same. But each day runs from one sunrise to the next, and sunrise changes with the city, so times near dawn can differ a little elsewhere. This list is for New Delhi.
