- The syllable of the 4th pada is ञ, but no names begin with ञ. The gloss of the Brihad Avakahada Chakram says to give a name in ज (Ja) for this pada; Pt. Sitarama Sharma (Ati Brihat Avakahada Chakram, p. 24) calls that a misreading, since ज is the syllable of another pada, and says to keep the ञ birth name and give another name for calling.
