अथ चैनं नित्यजातं नित्यं वा मन्यसे मृतम् ।
तथापि त्वं महाबाहो नैवं शोचितुमर्हसि ॥ २६ ॥

atha cainaṃ nityajātaṃ nityaṃ vā manyase mṛtam
tathāpi tvaṃ mahābāho naivaṃ śocitumarhasi

और यदि तू इसे सदा जन्म लेने वाला और सदा मरने वाला भी मानता है, तो भी हे महाबाहु, तुझे इस प्रकार शोक नहीं करना चाहिए।

Explanation

Here Shri Krishna gives a second argument: suppose the Self is not eternal and is born and dies each time; even then, grief is pointless. In other words, whichever philosophical view Arjuna holds, his grief is not justified by any of them.
