Translation
These bodies of the eternal, indestructible and immeasurable embodied self are said to have an end. Therefore fight, O Bharata.
इस नित्य, अविनाशी और अप्रमेय (जिसे मापा न जा सके) आत्मा के ये शरीर नाशवान कहे गए हैं। इसलिए हे भारत, तू युद्ध कर।
Explanation
The body is certain to end; the Self is not. "Tasmad yudhyasva" (therefore fight) is not a teaching of violence here, but the conclusion that it is not right to turn back from one’s duty out of fear that bodies will perish.
