dūreṇa hyavaraṃ karma buddhiyogāddhanañjaya

Word by word
Translation
Action done for its fruit is far inferior to action done with the yoga of wisdom, Dhananjaya. Take refuge in this wisdom; pitiable are those whose motive is the fruit.
Explanation
The action is the same, but when the attitude behind it changes, so does its worth. One who works only for the fruit becomes a slave to the outcome and is anxious every time. "Buddhi yoga" means acting with an understanding rooted in samatva (evenness of mind).
