यं हि न व्यथयन्त्येते पुरुषं पुरुषर्षभ ।
समदुःखसुखं धीरं सोऽमृतत्वाय कल्पते ॥ १५ ॥

yaṃ hi na vyathayantyete puruṣaṃ puruṣarṣabha
samaduḥkhasukhaṃ dhīraṃ so'mṛtatvāya kalpate

ENGLISH

The steady person whom these do not disturb, best of men, who remains the same in pain and pleasure, is fit for immortality.

हिंदी

हे पुरुषश्रेष्ठ, जिस धीर पुरुष को ये विचलित नहीं करते और जो दुख-सुख में समान रहता है, वही अमृतत्व (मोक्ष) के योग्य होता है।

Explanation

The fruit of forbearance: one who stays even in pleasure and pain becomes fit to be freed from the cycle of birth and death. This idea of "samatva" (evenness) later becomes the definition of yoga in 2.48.
