Translation
O Bharata, there between the two armies, Hrishikesha, as if smiling, spoke these words to the grieving Arjuna.
हे भारत, दोनों सेनाओं के बीच शोक करते हुए उस अर्जुन से हृषीकेश ने मानो मुस्कराते हुए यह वचन कहा।
Explanation
"Prahasann iva" means as if smiling. Shri Krishna is not shaken by Arjuna’s grief; his smile is taken as a sign of the calm and reassurance of the teaching to come. Here, between the two armies, just before the battle, this dialogue begins.
