Translation
Treating alike pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat, prepare for battle. Thus you will incur no sin.
Explanation
This verse is the bridge between Sankhya and Yoga. Sin comes not from action itself but from a spirit full of attachment, aversion and self-interest. One who does their duty while remaining even towards the result is not bound by that action. This same idea later becomes the yoga of samatva (evenness of mind) in 2.48.
